DE Study Trip @ Taipei, Taiwan

This trip helps me to understand more about the Taiwan's culture and history as I went to some of the heritage sites, including National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall and National Palace Museum and going to some of Taiwan's famous tourists attractions places like Taipei 101 and Xi-Men Ting.

It also allows me to understand that every architecture parts plays an important role. For example, Taipei 101 has a giant pendulum that moves front and back to counter motion during natural disasters like earthquake.  I also went to Xi-men Ting as we ate some of Taiwan's famous food like Boba Tea, Beef Noodles and Fried Chicken Chop.

As Taiwan is more prone to natural disasters as compared to Singapore, I learnt to appreciate what we have in Singapore and not to always complain of what we have and take it for granted.

Overseas Immersion Programme @ Wuhan,China

During the Semester Break in Year 1, I went for a OIP trip to China. This this 3 weeks trip allows me to have a chance to interact with the locals and also attended their lessons as they share about the China rich culture and history, learning about the different dynasties in China, the evolution of Chinese characters and comparing how the lives in different dynasties are different as compared to now.

I also have attended some of the workshops such as Chinese painting, calligraphy and tea art which I will not have a chance to experience in Singapore and trying some of their iconic food like beef noodle and hot dry noodles. I went to some of the tourist attractions like Wudang Shan and Yellow Crane tower where I could get to see the preserved antiques objects from different dynasties.

This trip has been a very fruitful and enjoyable ones as I get to experience the lives of living in China, understanding their behaviour there and learn to be independent as we are away from our closed ones.
